This project was a lot of fun. We were given these foam tiles and tools to carve a 3-D image into the block. Our teacher wanted the subject to be related to the ocean, and for us to show off our blending skills (Like for the water and fins) This was a challenge in the sense of you had to work backwards in a way. I also had trouble pushing myself to make the different layer more extreme, I'm used to doing only 2-D works mostly. My favorite part of the the project was the painting. I put multiple colors in each object, like the seaweed has Green, black, yellow, and a bit of white. I think my strongest point on this project was how I did the hair, and painted the water. I could have craved everything a bit more deeper to give it a bit more contrast.

Quick Challenge #4
This quick challenge had the theme of "travel" Of course I didn't want to just do a simple road, I wanted to think out of the box. I came up with this because I feel travel doesn't have to me limited to just physical. You can day dream about going to different places around the world. You can read and watch things about different worlds. So that is why I chose to do something like this.
Extreme Expression Masks
This assignment was to create a mask out of paper mache. Our teacher wanted us to do extreme expressions, like the classic theater masks. Mine didn't turn out very extreme. . .more flirty! I focused mainly on the details, to the contrast of the light and dark colors, to the outline of the purple. I wish I would have pushed myself to make more of an dramatic expression, but at the same time, that type of work doesn't go well with my personal style of art.
Quick Challenge #3
This challenge was themed "elements" after a bit of thought, I knew I wanted to do something like this. When I thought of elements, I tried to think back to times in my life where one of the natural elements stuck out to me. One place was a gaveyard. I've always liked the feel graveyards give you (in the day of course!) For me, it is a quite, peaceful place. Where the people of the past can return and rest in the earth below. So an image of a run down graveyard came to mind. It is very easy to let the earth take back that place if you don't take care of it.
